We help meet the occupational health needs of Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, and South Dakota by educating the future occupational health and safety workforce, developing partnerships, and funding pilot research . We create opportunities for graduate and post-graduate trainees to learn from accomplished faculty and other trainees in five different occupational health and safety disciplines. In addition, we offer tuition support, research funds, and stipends to qualified students. Four of the programs are located at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, and one — occupational and environmental medicine — is located at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. All of these programs offer interdisciplinary educational opportunities, such as shared classes and worksite visits, that teach students how to address real-world problems facing employers and workers. Programs Occupational and Environmental Medicine Residency The Occupational Medicine Residency is an ACGME-accredited two-year program . Residents in this program gain the qualifications to sit for board certification, earn a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with a concentration in environmental and occupational health, and practice their skills in a wide variety of settings, from medical facilities to industry sites. This program is offered through the Colorado School of Public Health, located on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. Learn more Fellowship This fellowship is an ACGME-accredited one-year program. Fellows gain clinical and research experience in occupational medicine, have the opportunity to earn a MPH degree with a concentration in environmental and occupational health, and practice their skills in a variety of settings. This program is offered through the Colorado School of Public Health, located on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. Learn more Occupational Ergonomics and Safety In this program, students learn the fundamentals of occupational ergonomics and safety through individualized curricula designed to meet their career goals. Students have the option to earn a Master of Science (MS) or PhD degree. This program is offered through Colorado State University, located in Fort Collins, Colorado. Learn more Industrial Hygiene This program trains students to evaluate, prevent, and control for workplace contaminants and stressors that can cause illness, injury, or impaired well-being. Learn more Health Physics Students in this program learn from faculty certified in health physics and through experiences in the field, including a week-long practicum at the Los Alamos National Laboratory and visits to local uranium mines and mills. Students have the opportunity to earn a MS degree in health physics or a PhD in radiological health sciences with a concentration in health physics. This program is offered through Colorado State University, located in Fort Collins, Colorado.
